80%20’s 5 Year Anniversary Party

2010 marks 80%20 Footwear’s Fifth Year, a coming of age for a New York based brand that has grown from its street culture roots into an internationally loved brand with a strong cult following.

 In celebration, 80%20 partnered with Kanon Organic Vodka to rejoice the strength of designer Ce Ce Chin’s vision and the designs that have positioned her as a true staple in the world of accessories design.

 Over 150 80%20 friends, supporters, tastemakers and the footwear industry elite attended the event.  Party goers had the opportunity to view 80%20’s evolution with a visual timeline of shoes from past and present collections complemented by a storyboard of lookbook images.

Last week, Woolly Pocket and their volunteer gardeners (plant-loving New Yorkers knows as “The Woolly Bunch”) planted Pop-Up Vertical Gardens in unexpected places around the city. Think chain link fences and scaffolding now covered in stunning succulents and gorgeous greens – all a gift from Woolly Pocket to make the city a bit healthier and all the more beautiful.

Snooki Gets Glam in Lipsy at Grown Ups

“Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi  walked the red carpet last night at the Grown Ups New York City premiere with a chic new style courtesy of Lipsy London.  The Dress Snooki selected for her red carpet stroll was from the Lipsy VIP range. The London based brand has just officially launched at select Bloomindales’s locations and is available via www.lipsy.co.uk.

 Lipsy, which serves the style- driven, high-street livin’ diva who is always dressed for a fabulous time is a favorite of trendsetters Taylor Swift, Kristin Cavallari, and Paris Hilton.  


Yeohlee Teng Unveils Mannequin @ Sidewalk Catwalk

Yeohlee Teng along with 31 other American designers unveiled their contribution to the ambitious SIDEWALK CATWALK public art exhibit on Broadway!   

 

The exhibit includes custom-built Ralph Pucci mannequins "walking" on the Broadway boulevard between Times Square and Herald Square, each modeling a bold, one-of-a-kind manifestation of its designer's artistic vision. Teng said about her design,  "My inspiration for CATWALKSIDEWALK on Broadway and 36th is an homgae to the architecture and public space of the Garment District. The mannequin is dressed with bricks and detailed with set-backs referencing the wedding cake buildings of the neighbourhood."

W New York Bump It Up Event

W – New York Hotel hosted the “Bump It Up” event in honor of Amy Tara Koch, a renowned style expert, journalist, TV personality, and writer of “Bump It Up: Transform Your Pregnancy Into The Ultimate Style Statement”.  Soon-to-be mothers came from all over to receive a crash course fashion demonstration on maternity style and enjoy special amenities such as treatments by BLISS SPA, a “faux glow” bar by LANCOME, a five minute hair-fix by Frederic Fekkai, and the chance to test drive Kara Ross’ statement baubles, belts, and bags.  Mock-tinis, along with mini grilled cheese sandwiches, mini sliders, pickles, and ice cream milkshakes from the W’s Baby Me Package’s “Womb Service” menu were served to satisfy any pregnancy craving.     

W Hotels was also promoting their new “Baby Me Package” which include a pair of Baby Moccasins from W Hotels the Store, an adorable Whoops Baby Onesie, three items from the Womb Service Menu, and a copy of the Bump It Up book.

Spun @ The Foundation! Every Tuesday!

Your inner DJ is sick and tired of being left home every Tuesday night.  It wants to get drunk on liquor popsicles and rock out.  Luckily, it can do just that at the new LES bar, Foundation’s free Tuesday night party Spun.

 From 7-11 PM inspiring DJs can take over the DJ booth for 10-15 minutes intervals and enjoy free liquor popsicles.  This past Tuesday was the launch of the new party and it was a great success.  We can’t wait to rock out this upcoming week and hope you can join us next week for great music, fun and free liquor popsicles.
